Welcome to the October issue of Navigating Solo News, the Navigating Solo Network’s monthly newsletter.

This month’s issue celebrates our 1st anniversary and offers links upcoming events relevant to solo agers.

Wow, what a year it has been! Visibility has really increased regarding the unique needs of navigating aging solo since the site was launched.

NavigatingSolo.com was created in October 2021 to be a clearinghouse for reliable information and resources for solo agers. In time, we will be expanding our offerings to include a business directory of professionals who work with solos, solo ager profiles & stories, a Navigating Solo Workbook (December 2022) and more!

As you know, I am passionate about meeting the unique needs of solos agers and enhancing the resources available for those navigating solo!

It is my hope that this national website and network will continue to grow, include the voices of many solo aging advocates, share individual stories of those navigating solo, connect solos to each other, and offer ideas and solutions for the many aspects of a compiling and implementing a navigating solo plan!

• October 21, 2021: Announcing the Network! After offering many community education talks about solo aging, offering small group facilitated discussion groups, and working with many solo agers directly, it became evident that a clearinghouse was needed for solo aging resources! We purchased navigatingsolo.com and the rest, as they say, is history!

• November 2021: The Invitation for Our First Free Navigating Solo Get Together! We offer two free virtual social gatherings each year. To date, we have had over 150 people join us from 13 US states! Visit the events page to register for the next Get Together on November 10, 2022!
