What did you find valuable?

  • Learning

    • that there are a number of solo agers throughout the country with the same problems and issues that need to be addressed.

    • about the amazing Solo Aging resources and plans to create regional groups in the fall.

    • about additional Internet resources.

    • about what groups some have started.

    • there are a lot of people like me

  • That advocacy is needed for solo agers - mainly us for ourselves.

  • That there really can be a forum for this phenomenon--being a solo ager.

  • Listening to the different perspectives, challenges, needs and helpful tips

  • The most valuable thing I learned was that all solo agers need the love and support that is readily available to them wherever they are, they just have to open themselves up to it.

  • So glad to know about The Navigating Solo Network and all the others in similar situations

  • That I am not alone at this challenging time of my life. It stirred my activist energy. :)

  • Small group exercise. Loved it!

  • How many solo agers showed up for this event!

  • I am new to the term solo aging, which surprised me. I've found it all useful, and am interested in learning more

  • What surprised me was my positive reaction when people like me were encouraged to turn on their cameras and microphones to participate in the small group discussion, even though I really didn't think I wanted to.

  • I've done enough zoom groups now that I am beginning to see some of the same folks...which is very nice.

  • The number of attendees

  • Learning about information that is available.

  • Wide attendance

  • Great resources mentioned

  • So many folks out there in this situation.
