DOROT: Solo Aging: Staying Connected, Fighting Loneliness

DOROT: Solo Aging: Staying Connected, Fighting Loneliness

The program will focus on those who are older, child-free, and living independently. In our humanity, we thrive on human connection and cooperation. When we are not fed and watered through social connections, we are diminished. The program will focus on coping strategies for living well with solo aging, with particular focus on the problems manifest for men.

Led by Jackson Rainer, Ph.D., ABPP, a board-certified clinical psychologist practicing in Atlanta. With more than 35 years of experience as a psychotherapist, Dr. Rainer is also Professor Emeritus of the University System of Georgia and a writer for the NPR/PBS magazine Next Avenue.  He divides his time between homes in Atlanta and Tryon, North Carolina.
