What is a Patient Advocate and Why Do You Need One?

Learn about the expanding field of private patient advocacy and its value to the healthcare consumer. Working with an independent board certified patient advocate (BCPA) provides a client with compassionate, resourceful, and skilled assistance tailored to the client’s expressed needs, goals, and values. A patient advocate can assist in cutting through the “red tape” while amplifying the client’s voice and assisting her/him/them in gathering the right information for making informed medical decisions.

We’ll discuss who is hiring private patient advocates, the work done by advocates, the value provided to clients and their support systems. Ailene will also share what fuels her passion about patient advocacy and what brought her to the field.
