Navigating Solo Virtual Spring Get Together, March 2023

 
 

On Thursday, March 23, 58 people attended our Navigating Solo Spring Get Together! Participants joined us from California, Colorado, Delaware, Washington DC, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington, Mexico, and Canada. There were opportunities for large and small group discussions and many resources were shared!

What was the most valuable thing you learned at the event?

  • “People's references and suggestions regarding groups, books, and resources”

  • “The knowledge of the attendees and the variety of senior programs”

  • “Everything was useful and a good use of our time”

  • “Encountering other people from my area”

  • “The whole program with emphasis on info from breakout participants”

  • “Good suggestions for navigating emergencies”

  • “I appreciated attendees’ positivity and helpfulness”

  • “I am taking away some great ideas to bring to my own aging without children group”

  • “I’d better plan for someone to stay with for a few days in case of a fire or if I have to stay with someone after, say, a surgery.

What surprised you about the event?

  • The number of people facing the same challenges as myself

  • Not really surprised, but really pleased at the amount of information and number of ideas that come from a large group!
